Home > Exinda vs Packeteer
OverviewBasic summary of advantages and feature deficiencies for Exinda Networks vs competition.
Primary Exinda Advantages
- Exinda ease of use and manageability.
- We have a much higher success rate in finding and addressing
difficult traffic such as bit torrent and skype. we have a 98%
success rate vs. Packeteer’s 40%
- Exinda uses two engines to determine traffic:
- Layer 7 w/300 signatures (see attachment on topic Exinda Networks)
- Heuristic, behavioral based deep packet inspection. Packeteer has 1 engine with about 700 signatures
Deltas with PacketeerFor the most part, we are on parity with Packeteer features wise. The
only things that I could find as incremental with Packeteer are:
- Reports that can go down to a higher granularity time wise,
i.e. Down to the minute, although our reports are much easier to use
and largely considered more useful.
- Packeteer has some options for field upgradable ( I believe
they are field upgradable) hardware extensions for more ram, bridge
groups etc.
